How to Increase Weapon Proficiency in Rise of the Ronin

In Rise of the Ronin, you’ll be more proficient with certain weapons depending on your chosen Sharpening Origin. However, you can still use any weapon in the game. Since some weapons are more effective against certain types of enemies, you’ll want to swap them out often. Here’s how to increase weapon proficiency in Rise of the Ronin. 

Rise of the Ronin: How to Increase Weapon Proficiency 

To increase weapon proficiency, you must use a particular weapon in battle and defeat enemies with it. For example, if you want to improve your proficiency with a Spear, you’ll have to kill some folks with it.

If you want to gain weapon proficiency fast, I recommend completing restore public order missions. If you look at your map, you’ll notice that bandits are taking over multiple areas. You’ll have to take out every enemy in these missions. Since there are multiple enemies, it’s a great time to use a new weapon and become more proficient with it.

Another great way to increase your weapon proficiency is to fight fugitives. As mentioned, you’ll get a new combat style when defeating them. You will not only gain weapon proficiency, but you will also get a new style that you prefer for that weapon. 

Rise of the Ronin Weapons Explained

Rise of the Ronin has nine different types of weapons. Every weapon has a primary stat boost, so depending on your class, you’ll be better with other weapons. 

Each weapon has multiple different fighting styles. You can unlock these combat styles by gaining allies and increasing your Bond with them. Combat styles can also be obtained by defeating fugitives around the map.
