Viking Conquest takes the Mount & Blade franchise into historical Dark Age Britain, at a time when Norsemen began to raid the British Isles, looting monasteries and burning coastal settlements. In the gameplay reveal, the different kinds of battle modes featured in the DLC are shown. These include dynamic sea battles with controllable ships and seamless boarding encounters, sieges in historically based Dark Age settlements and formations for your troops, including the famed Shield Wall.

“Viking Conquest” will feature lore independent from the rest of the Mount and Blade series, complete with single player and multiplayer modes.  This DLC was developed by an external team, the folks responsible for the “Brytenwalda” mod.

Currently the entire Mount and Blade series is available at a steep discount on GoG. Additionally, GoG is giving away copies of the original Mount and Blade game as part of their Fall sale.  “Viking Conquest” is available for preorder now on GoG and other retailers with a December 2014 release date.
