How to Unlock Noita Worm Crystal Secret Achievement

Worm Crystals were added to the game to protect Holy Mountain shops. They do this by preventing worms from burrowing into the Holy Mountain. However, you can also trigger a secret event with them. Here’s how to unlock the Noita Worm Crystal secret achievement.

How to Bring Noita Worm Crystals Up to the Mountain Altar

The Noita Worm Crystal secret event is all about getting the actual Worm Crystal up to the Mountain Altar on the flying island. The flying island is right above the starting mountain where you first spawn. You can find Worm Crystals in Holy Mountain shops and also in the Frozen Vault. However, note that if you remove a Worm Crystal from a Holy Mountain, worms can start burrowing there again, thus angering the gods.

That said, getting a Worm Crystal up to the Mountain Altar is no easy task. You can’t pick it up, and it breaks if you hit it with spells. I used the Telekinetic Kick perk to move it, but you can also kick it for transport. Whenever you do, it’ll fly up in low gravity, so it’s important to place some frozen water particles above the altar so they don’t fly away if you accidentally hit it too hard. Here’s how I did it:

• Go to a Holy Mountain shop.
• Bring any spell to destroy terrain reliably so that you can travel up to the Mountain Altar with the crystal.
• Break the left wall of the Worm Crystal room with bombs (Any explosive spell also works).
• Use the Telekinetic Kick perk to levitate the Worm Crystal and carry it out (Default Kicks also work).
• Each time you kick the Worm Crystal it will fly up in low gravity so be careful not to accidentally hit with your spell which breaks it.
• Navigate to the flying island by drilling holes in the terrain upwards and propel the crystal up to the altar.
• Be careful so that the crystal doesn’t fly off into the air (I recommend freezing water particles above the altar).
• When you place it on the altar, the secret event will be triggered.

Get ready to hunt worms for Max Health upgrades.

What Is the Noita Worm Crystal Secret Event

Getting the Worm Crystal to the Mountain Altar unlocks the secret achievement and triggers the message: “THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU SEEK!”. The Worm Rain event will now trigger, causing worms of varying sizes to fall from the sky. I highly recommend hunting down and killing the big worms since they have a high chance of dropping Max Health upgrades. Essentially, these massive health upgrades are the point of the event, in addition to getting the secret achievement.

If you don’t have access to Telekinetic Kick and default kicking is too much of a hassle, there are some alternatives I found on Reddit and Steam discussions. Circle of Buoyancy seems to be a popular option for moving the crystals. Furthermore, I’ve seen discussions about Kuu’s Gravitational Field for moving the crystals as well. Whatever you do, I would just suggest you keep track of the Worm Crystal’s movement trajectory because its low gravity can cause it to fly up into the sky if you kick it too hard.
