When I’m not busy and I happen to be just sitting around and bored, I tend to often find myself scrolling around in Apple’s AppStore to see what games I can play and or review. Now not every game I play I review, but Fist of Fury is one of those games that is worthy of a review.
Fist of Fury is an iOS game that’s free in the AppStore. When playing the game, your character sits in the middle of an intersection and you have to swipe up, down, left or right in order to hit the ninjas and keep yourself from getting hit. The farther you go the faster the ninjas move down the line towards you and if you’re touched by the ninjas you lose.
The graphics this game possesses some resemblance to that of Flappy Bird (Damn Flappy Bird). The colors aren’t dull, they’re actually quite nice and aren’t to hard on the eyes, but personally a little bright. This pixelated game of pure colorful vintage goodness also provides the player with different maps each time you lose and have to start over, thus making this game forever different. The game allows you to change your character and each character has a different special attack that will kill multiple ninjas at once.
Like I said, the game provides you with different and unique maps that you can play on and it changes the map everyone you lose to something new and different, but sometimes you do see the same map so it can get repetitive (pshhhh…..whateves’…). You can buy new characters by earning points and going to the upgrade menu and you can scroll through different characters…. Or you can just unlock them. That’s easier. Don’t you hate those games where it gets you close to your high score and then you just die out of nowhere? That is this game. Sweet Jesus! You don’t know how many times I’ve gotten close to my high score and just die! But that’s what keeps you playing.
The game offers some music and sound effects as you play. Thumbs up for no silent games! I actually thought the music was like some sort of jazz or smooth jazz. Could elevator music or lounge music. You decide folks, you decide. The punch and kick effects are on time and are crisp with awesomeness…sweet bliss crispness.
The gameplay and control is simple and smooth. You swipe up, down, left, and right to hit a ninja in the corresponding direction. It makes it for use of two hands, so two hands it up guys!! Get those thumbs swiping! The makers of this game actually released and update to improve gameplay an control to insure great gameplay and replayability.
In conclusion, Fist of Fury is a game I highly recommend everyone to play. It’s fun, smooth, interesting, and addictive. But not aggravating like Flappy Bird. I’m sure you won’t throw your phone when playing this game. Between the games overall gameplay and control, graphics and replayability and nice and soothing soundtrack. I give this game a 10/10
