Sand Land: Best Starting Skills for Rao

Poison Gas!

This skill allows Rao to throw a hairspray can to confuse and incapacitate enemies. I find this to be the most useful when I’m surrounded and overwhelmed by multiple enemies. It’s a great way to break up a fight and heal before finishing the job.

Rao’s Orders

This skill will temporarily increase the attack on Beelzebub’s vehicle. Essentially, this acts as a free Fire Up Kit. I like to use this skill to deal with weaker enemies and get them out of the way quickly.

Tonfa Attack

This allows Rao to ride his Tonfa and intercept enemies that are closing in and knock them out. This is perfect for when a group of enemies is rushing towards you, and you can’t deal with all of them yourself at once.

Superhuman

While Rao is in his tank, enemies will have reduced movement and combat capabilities within a certain range of his tank. This is perfect for outmaneuvering your enemies and getting in the right position to take them out with your vehicle.

This increases the range of Superhuman. With this upgrade, you’ll be able to affect almost every enemy in the battle at once if you keep them close together. This makes battles with multiple enemies a breeze and is perfect for farming new vehicle parts.

Pow-pow

Pow-pow is the only hand-to-hand combat-related skill. It lets Rao incapacitate an enemy and allows Beelzebub to use his grab move without having to stun them himself.

Pow-pow +

The upgraded version of Pow-pow is one of the best skills in the entire game. Instead of incapacitating one enemy, it allows Rao to incapacitate entire groups at once

Vehic. Warfare

This allows Rao to ride in his own tank and engage hostile vehicles and enemies during combat. Having a second tank during battle is helpful during any battle, especially during boss fights or if there’s a large group of enemies.

VW: Upgrade

One of the biggest downsides of the Vehic. Warfare skill is that it doesn’t last that long. I always felt like Rao would disappear when I needed him most during the battle. However, this upgrade increases the amount of time Rao will stay in his tank to help you.

VW: Decoy

No matter how high your defenses are, your vehicle will take a lot of damage from enemy vehicles. I often found myself losing anywhere from a quarter to half of my health when I got hit by a few direct attacks. The decoy skill has enemies attack Rao instead of you, which is by far Rao’s best skill.
