There are lots of different Shikai variations in Roblox‘s Type Soul, but if you want to earn XP to learn all your unique abilities, you’ll need to complete different tasks, meditate, and listen to your spirit. Not sure where to get started? Here’s what it means to “listen to your spirit.”
What Does ‘Listen to Your Spirit’ Mean in Type Soul?
As you progress through higher grades as a Soul Reaper, you’ll receive some particular quests (like from the Doctor NPC) that require you to “listen to your spirit.” While this isn’t exactly clear on what that entails, it’s actually fairly easy.
When it says “listen to your spirit,” it means to speak to your Shikai Spirit through meditation. Once you reach grade two, your Shikai Spirit speaks to you as you meditate and will say different lines depending on your tier and level. You can start meditating by pressing “M” on your keyboard. This will only work for Soul Reapers. Once you start meditating, you’ll see the Spirit Whispers appear on your screen. Your character will automatically stand after finishing one meditation session.
You’ll need to repeat the process of meditating and listening to your spirit to gain your Shikai power to use in battle. After hearing from your spirit three times (one line from each tier), the fourth meditation will initiate a battle with them. Winning the battle grants you your Shikai.
All Shikai Spirit Types and Whispers
There are several different types of Shikai Spirits that you can hear from while meditating. The personality type of spirit that speaks to you is determined by random. However, each of them level up tiers and earn XP in different ways. Here’s all the different types you can get and what they can say to you:

You can earn your official Shikai ability only after defeating your Shikai Spirit in battle. Once you win the fight against them, you can use the Shikai by pressing J with your weapon drawn. If you happen to lose to your Shikai Spirit, you’ll have to wait an hour cooldown before meditating and trying again. You can speed up the cooldown time by gripping a player or an Arrancar NPC.
