The guys over at DoubleFine has teamed up with 2 Player Productions to make a very insightful and impressive Let’s Play, called DevsPlay. So far they have dissected The Lion King from Super Nintendo, and even the original Legend Of Zelda.
This episode has DoubleFine’s JP LeBreton, who was on the design team for Bioshock. JP sit’s down with John Romero, co-founder of ID Games and one of the designers of the original DOOM. Together they dissect the first episode of DOOM, Knee-Deep in the Dead. From the iconic E1M1 layout and design to secrets galore.
I was only three years old when DOOM came out, sadly I did not experience this iconic game until years later. When I was 7 years old I remember playing DOOM for the first time on my grandfathers computer, to say it blew my mind would be an understatement. DOOM will always have a special place in my gaming heart, and seeing one of the creators of DOOM show its secrets is inspiring to say the least.
I highly suggest you all check out the other episodes of DoubleFine’s DevsPlay as well.
