The live event for the end of the last season in Fortnite promised to change up the map with its sandstorm and create a desert-like wasteland. Now that we can start exploring it for ourselves, these are the new locations you’ll want to check out.
All New Map Locations in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3
Sand has completely taken over the bottom of a quarter of the map, and with it come four new named locations to explore. These are the perfect post-apocalyptic desert locations that scream Borderlands meets Fallout meets Mad Max. There are even a few nods to past seasons as well.
Here’s a look at the new map layout:
All the locations remain the same except Fencing Fields and Snooty Steppes, and the addition of two more locations expands the island downward a bit further. Fencing Fields has been taken over as the Nitrodrome, and Snooty Steppes has now become Sandy Steppes.
Keep reading below for a more in-depth look at each of these new locations.
Nitrodrome
This is the main attraction of the new map, taking the place of former Fencing Fields. This giant arena-like race track is fitted with all wasteland decor: ominous glowing purple lights, graffiti, and spiky interiors. This will be your go-to spot for getting a vehicle and modding it out with all the new gadgets. It’s also where you’ll find the Ringmaster Scar boss and battle her for a chance to collect that shiny medallion.
Brutal Beachhead
The Brutal Beachhead is the Wasteland Warrior’s main base and where you’ll find another boss to fight: Megalo Don. You can defeat him to collect another medallion at this location. Fittingly with the boss’s unique name, the base is shaped like a giant metal shark with spikes all along its head. This is a subtle nod to the shark head rock back in Chapter 2.
Sandy Steppes
Another location takeover is Sandy Steppes, just northwest of Brutal Beachhead. Although it doesn’t have one of the bosses and medallions, it’s a full town of houses and buildings where you can loot up with ease. Possibly a good spot to go before making your way over to the chaotic Nitrodrome.
Redline Rig
Last but not least, you have the Redline Rig, just southwest of Brawler’s Battleground. This is a full mechanic workshop, home of The Machinist. This master mechanic boss also has a medallion to claim, perfect for keeping your shield full at all times. This is another great spot to land for car mods.
Now that you have the basic lay of the land, get out there and start exploring for yourself. You’ll find all sorts of new secrets to uncover and all the new loot as well! Embrace your inner wastelander.
