If you’re like me, you explore all new locations you come across in Fallout 76 regardless of what quest you’re currently on. One of these areas is the Shenandoah Visitor Center in Skyline Valley, a brief destination for the Vault 63 storyline. This is how to get the Shenandoah Visitor Center Key in Fallout 76 Skyline Valley.
How to Obtain the Shenandoah Visitor Center Key in Fo76
The Shenandoah Visitor Center may be one of the first places you visit in Skyline Valley if you begin exploring the region from the Savage Divide or go directly there during the Skyline Valley quests. You may also stumble upon the Ranger Station Bunker, which connects to the center through an underground tunnel.
The center itself isn’t explored as part of Into Lands Unknown, as it only brings you near the building. However, I like to fully explore a place when I first discover it. Most of the center is behind locked or chained doors, with no terminal to unlock them. To get into that part of the center and its lower levels, as well as access it from the bunker, you’ll need the Visitor Center Key.
Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait to get through the locked doors. The only way to obtain the Visitor Center Key is during the quest “Seeking Shelter.” This is one of the main story quests and involves Aubrey, Hugo’s daughter. You’ll need to bring her the Weather Machine plans and complete “Between the Lines” first.
During the course of the quest, which brings you to the Shenandoah Visitor Center, you’ll encounter Ranger Kevin. He’s a skittish man who’s been alone for far too long, but he does have the key to the Visitor Center. He also has the item you need to complete “Seeking Shelter.”
He unlocks the main door in the center so you can clear out the suspicious people who are doing some sort of ritual. Turns out they’re Cultists, and you have to kill them to take care of the problem. Once done, Kevin will lead you to the Ranger Station Bunker via the underground tunnel. You’ll be able to access all areas of the Shenandoah Visitor Center and travel through the tunnel moving forward.
That’s how to get the Shenandoah Visitor Center Key in Fallout 76 in the new Skyline Valley region. For more help in the new area, such as a rundown on the new events or how to start the main storyline, check out our Fallout 76 guides vault.
