Viper is the latest job coming to FFXIV, and it provides a new option for a Warrior of Light who enjoys playing a melee DPS role. However, there are a couple of requirements before you pick up your blades. Here’s how to become a Viper in FFXIV: Dawntrail.
FFXIV Dawntrail: How to Become a Viper
To start the job quest, you need to have a Disciple of War or Magic Job at Level 80 or higher. Of course, you’ll also need the Dawntrail expansion purchased and registered to your account. Then, begin by heading to Ul’dah and finding the Worried Weaver at (X: 9.3, Y: 9.2). Talk to him and accept the “Enter the Viper” quest.
Next, head to the Weavers’ Guild through the Aethernet and speak with the So-called Viper standing nearby. He’s having a misunderstanding with the weaver, but they settle on him killing a beast for payment for repairing his gear. However, the weaver asks you to supervise the Viper anyway. That means your next stop is Camp Drybone.
Again, the Viper is near the Aetheryte, so head over and speak with him when you arrive. The cutscene that plays takes you right to the beast that he needs to kill, which is nice and convenient. It also takes you right back to Ul’dah. Go to the Weavers’ Guild once more and speak with the Viper again. Accept his offer to become a Viper, and he hands you a job stone.
That’s how to become a Viper in FFXIV: Dawntrail. Like other jobs, starting them generally requires that you go through a short quest. From there, you have to work on leveling up and completing the job quests you unlock at higher levels. Overall, it took maybe five minutes to unlock Viper.
