V Rising Gear Progression Guide: Tips for Leveling Up

A gear progression guide for V Rising to help you increase your gear level!

Gear is an important element of V Rising, and it’s key as to whether you’ll be able to beat increasingly stronger enemies. As a result, understanding gear and how to increase its level is important. So, here’s your V Rising gear progression guide and tips for leveling up.

Tips for Leveling Gear and Progressing in V Rising

Your gear level is the sum of the level of each individual piece of gear you have equipped. So, you have four armor pieces, your jewelry, and your weapon for a total of six items. If each item had, for example, a score of five, then your gear level would be 30. When you have a higher gear level, you’re able to defeat stronger enemies.

V Rising Armor Progression

For crafting armor, you need a Simple Workbench—which is a default recipe you have at the start—for the Boneguard and Nightstalker armor. Then, you learn how to craft a Tailoring Bench from Quincy for Hollowfang and Dawnthorn armor. From here, you unlock additional armor tiers by defeating the lead V Blood Carrier of each region to gain more recipes, not just for armor but for weapons and jewelry as well.

As you go through tiers, you notice that there are set bonuses for different armor upgrades within the same tier. This means that you need to pay attention to which upgrade you choose for your armor in order to get the most beneficial stats for your build. As an example, you might be running a build that relies on physical power, so you want to upgrade to a set that gives you that stat. This upgrade style also applies to weapons and jewelry.

V Rising Weapon Progression

To craft weapons, you’ll need a total of five structures built. The table below lays out each structure, which weapon tiers you craft using them, and where you pick up the recipe.

Weapons have a bit of RNG for crafting when you use shards because their stats are randomly generated. As a result, it might be difficult to get the best stats for the build you’re running on the first try.

V Rising Jewelry Progression

Like armor, jewelry has two structures you need. The Simple Workbench you begin with, so you’ll be able to craft all rings with that. Then, you need to get the Artisan Table from Leandra to craft amulets.  Just like with weapons and armor, you want to pay attention to stats when you’re able to upgrade your jewelry into various items in the same tier because they have different stats but the same gear level. As such, you want to go for the stats that are best suited for the build you’re using.

And that wraps up your V Rising gear progression guide and tips for leveling up. The key is to continue defeating the V Blood Carriers and pay attention to the stats when you have multiple upgrade options. From here, check out our V Rising guide hub for more content!
