Like most classes in Phase 4, Warriors get three new runes that they can find and use to get power buffs that weren’t available in vanilla WoW, adding new dynamics to your gameplay. Here are all Phase 4 Warrior runes and how to get them in WoW Season of Discovery.
WoW Season of Discovery: All Phase 4 Warrior Runes and How to Get Them
The cloak runes added for Warrior are Sudden Death, Shockwave, and Fresh Meat. Of these three, Shockwave will likely take the longest to pick up simply because you have to complete a series of quests, then survive a fight with three phases. While Warriors can use the new ring runes, they apply to most classes and aren’t exclusive for any one class’s rune list.
How to Get the Fresh Meat Rune
This rune’s description reads: damaging a target with Bloodthirst has a 100% chance the first time and a 10% chance each subsequent time to Enrage you (activating abilities which require being Enraged), and cause you to deal 10% increased Physical damage for 12 sec.
If you want to pick up this rune, head to Blackrock Stronghold in Burning Steppes and kill 5 enemies to get the Rhythm of War buff. Then, go to the altar at the back of the keep (39, 27) and /salute to summon a Revered Champion. Once you kill this enemy, make sure to loot him so you can pick up the Rune of the First Warrior and get Fresh Meat.
How to Get the Shockwave Rune
Here’s the description for this rune: sends a wave of force in front of the warrior, causing (50 / 100 * Attack power) damage and stunning all enemy targets within 10 yards in a frontal cone for 4 sec.
This rune will probably take the most time to get due to how many steps it requires. The nice part is that each quest leads into the next one you need to complete. First, start at (59, 91) in Tanaris and accept the quest “Beach Bot” from the Half-Buried Mech. This leads to the quest “Mechanical Romance.” Use the Guided Buoyancy Accelerant to follow the direction that Spike Lakeman is swimming. Once you turn it in, accept “Frosty Favors” from the nearby oil rig and head to Numi in Everlook, Winterspring (61, 37).
Now, pick up “Red Bag Blues” from Numi and head to Burning Steppes. The bag is at (59, 29), and then you go to the camp at (53, 25). But it turns out Numi has more items you need to collect. So, grab “Poacher’s Den” and defeat the Blackrock Bootlegger and Sulfuron Smuggler to finish picking up Numi’s items.
Now, we get to the final stretch. Return to Numi to turn in “Poacher’s Den” and pick up “Bookin’ it Back.” This quest has you return to the island in Tanaris that you got “Frosty Favors” from. This leads to the “Rift Away” quest, where you follow Jurgens to the teleporter and end up in either Tirisfal Glades or Westfall depending on your faction. Once you arrive, talk to the NPC there and summon a Harvest Golem V000-A to fight. This enemy drops your rune, but it’s a tough fight and completing it in a group won’t give you the rune. Therefore, you want to have some friends nearby to help fight or heal you without being grouped up.
How to Get the Sudden Death Rune
The description for this rune reads: your melee hits have a 10% chance to grant Sudden Death. Sudden Death allows one use of Execute regardless of the target’s health state. When Execute is enabled by Sudden Death, you will retain 10 rage after using Execute. (Proc chance: 10%)
Compared to the Shockwave Rune, this one is much more straightforward. Head to Silithus and pick up the quest “Infinite Midnight” from the Wandering Swordsman, who has a chance to spawn in multiple locations, as shown in the map above. As long as you don’t pick easy for the difficulty, you’ll receive the rune. Complete the fight, and you receive the Sudden Death Rune.
