Romance is in full bloom in Fields of Mistria, with 10 eligible bachelors and bachelorettes to woo in Early Access and more mystery marriage candidates on the way. While you’ll hit a wall in your relationships at just four hearts, developer NPC Studio plans to extend the cap in the next update, alongside the addition of new heart events and marriage. Hidden Romance Options

At the time of its Early Access launch, Fields of Mistria offers up 10 marriage candidates, with two more confirmed singles on the way. NPC Studio has remained pretty tight-lipped about the newcomers, so we’re not sure what to expect just yet. However, it does appear the rosy farming and life sim boasts hidden romance options in its Early Access version, including Caldarus (yes, the dragon).

That being said, it’s likely hidden romance questlines will be far more difficult to tackle. Heck, I’ve tried handing over gifts to Caldarus, and this action doesn’t seem possible quite yet. Perhaps further progress in the main story is necessary to unlock his questline and start earning hearts, but we may need to wait for the game’s next update to learn more.

Is Olric Romanceable?

To the disappointment of many budding Fields of Mistria fans, Olric is not a romanceable character — at least, in Early Access. You can still grow closer to the gem-loving jock, but for now, he remains unavailable to date. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that NPC Studio will take a hint and clear his schedule for heart events in a future update.

How to Give Gifts in Fields of Mistria

Gift-giving is a key cultural practice in Mistria, according to Eiland. Fans of the genre will find the mechanics here familiar, especially those who have experience with Stardew Valley-style gameplay. To give gifts in Fields of Mistria, make sure the item you want to give away is in your inventory. From there, simply navigate to the item on your hotbar to hold it, then directly face the character you want to give it to. Press ZR to hand it off.
