Simian Agility is one of two starting skills for the Stamina skill tree, and it’s one of the most important skills in the game. Put simply, Simian Agility reduces the stamina cost of dodging. Not only will you be doing a lot of dodging, but you’ll need to do so before landing a few attacks. This all but requires a large Stamina bar, but skills like Simian Agility help, too.

Composure

This skill is a little further down in the Stamina skill tree, but it’s a real game changer. Normally, a combo of attacks is easy to interrupt. It can stop when you’re hit, when you dodge an attack, or if you wait too long between attacks. Composure makes it so dodging no longer interrupts an attack, but it’s more useful than it originally appears. Since dodging when you don’t need to is no longer punished, you’re less likely to get hit, too. You can even dodge towards an enemy when they move away to avoid interrupting a combo.

Effortless Finisher

Effortless Finisher is one of the first Martial Arts skills, and it deals with Focus. More precisely, it makes it easier to get focus by granting a lot more of it by hitting an enemy with the second attack of a combo. This helps with gathering enough focus to enable heavy attacks before the end of the combo, allowing you to finish with a heavy attack instead of the regular finisher.

Vigilant Heart

Vigilant Heart increases the focus gained by executing a perfect dodge. This is great because focus is the only real reason to try to go for a perfect dodge, which is generally more risky than a regular one. Putting two points in Vigilant Heart turns the focus bonus from useful to a potential foundation for a dodge-heavy build. It takes a few points to get to this skill, but some players will find it worth their time.

Ephemeral Shadow

Ephemeral Shadow is way down in the Stamina skill tree, but it might be worth making a run for it as soon as you have the skill points to get it. Ephemeral Shadow improves perfect dodges by giving you a strong damage reduction after executing one. Perfect dodges are risky, but they can be extremely useful. Landing only three or four of those in a row can load your entire Focus bar. If that’s your strategy, the extra protection given by Ephemeral Shadow will be worth it.
