Kneeling the ball is a great way to prevent your team from making mistakes or letting the opposing team get easy points that could change the game’s complexity. There are two times when you should kneel the ball, and that is close to halftime and the end of the game.

First, kneeling to take the game into halftime is only sometimes seen, but it is a viable strategy. You’d want to kneel before the half if you are deep in your territory and don’t have enough time to make it downfield for a touchdown or field goal. Instead, you’d want to kneel to end the half instead of potentially turning the ball over and allowing the team to score easy points.

The second time you’d want to kneel the ball is if the opposing team is losing and they cannot stop the clock from running. If this is the case, you can end the game by kneeling three times if there is less than two minutes left on the clock. Again, this will prevent you from running unnecessary plays that could result in the opposing team scoring or injuries to your players.

Now that you know how to kneel in Madden 25 and when to do so, you’ll have a valuable tool to manage the clock correctly. Check out our Madden 25 hub for more guides like How to Change Music so you create the perfect soundtrack!
