While moving through chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong you might stumble upon a large room called Melon Field, as a nearby checkpoint informs us. At first, you won’t find anything in this room, not even the ingredients for new drinks and soaks. But the Melon Fields does have a purpose. Here’s What to Do in the Melon Field in Black Myth: Wukong.
How to Use the Melon Field in Black Myth: Wukong
The trigger to make the Melon Field area useful is hidden far away from the field itself. First of all, you’ll have to find an NPC that is currently freezing to death near the Towers of Karma checkpoint. You can find the Towers of Karma by starting from Forest of Felicity, moving through the wooden gate and taking the white snow slope to the left of the main path. You can see the slope in the screenshot above.
From here, you just need to drop down after going up the slope and move forward. Eventually, you’ll find either a small river or a series of stone pillars. If you see the river, follow its path to your right. If you found the pillars, keep following them. They’ll take you to the Towers of Karma checkpoint.
Near the checkpoint is a man on the verge of freezing to death. Go to the checkpoint, equip the Ring of Fire spell, and use it near him. He’ll tell you about a fabled melon field, which is the name of the checkpoint from which we started. The next step is to go to the Melon Field again.
How to Reach the Melon Field
If you’ve never been to the Melon Field, here’s how to find it:
- Start from the Forest of Felicity checkpoint
- Move towards the wooden gate but don’t go through
- Take the path to the right of the wooden gate
- You’ll recognize this path because it’s the only one that goes downhill
- Keep moving forward and keep going downhill
- Follow the lake/river to its conclusion
- When the path seems to end, jump down the right side of the cliff
- You can use the screenshot above for reference
You’ll soon find yourself in the Melon Field. If you’ve followed this guide correctly, a boss will immediately begin. Make sure to activate the checkpoint before beginning the fight, so you can try again if you lose. Once you beat the Green-Capped Martialist boss, you’ll receive a new spell: the Spell Binder.
