The Best Weapons in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta

Here are the top five best weapons you can use in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

While there are twelve weapons available in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta, there are a few that definitively rise above the rest. The five weapons on this list are the best of the best, to the point that some of them need nerfs immediately. Others are in a good place. Let’s get started.

Without seeing the full weapon roster as of the beta, it’s hard to say if the currently best weapons will stay that way, but right now, if you aren’t using one of the guns on this list you are actively nerfing yourself.

#5: Ames 85

The XM4 might take the cake as the best all around assault rifle in BLack Ops 6, the Ames is by far the most accurate. It feels a bit like the MW2 (2009) ACR, though it has some recoil, it’s very easy to control, and if you’ve got good aim (better than mine, anyway), you can laser beam someone from across the map with relative ease. I’ve ranked it a bit lower on this list because its slower fire rate and worse hipfire performance mean it’s more limited in which engagements it excels at. Play it right, however, and there are few better weapons in the game.

#4: LR 7.62

The high-powered Sniper Rifle of Black Ops 6, the LR 7.62 looks like the L96A1 from the original Black Ops but functions more like the DSR 50 from Black Ops 2. That is, it’s a one-shot kill from the middle-chest up. It’s also a much better shotgun than the actual shotgun available in Black Ops 6. Sniper Rifles are also easy to use, as they’re accurate through aim punch (the screen movement while being hit), meaning you can win gunfights at range even if your enemy gets on-target first. You can even use the Overkill Wildcard to have a Jackal PDW in your back pocket, negating any close-range deficits altogether.

#3: C9

No, the C9/MP5 is not the Jackal PDW. It is demonstrably worse than its wonkier-looking cousin in every way that matters, but if you want to use something else (or need to for camo challenges or just a change of pace), it’s still better than most other guns in the game. It has a similar fire rate to the Jackal and performs at about 90% of what the Jackal can do. It does bounce a bit more, but with the right loadout and a slight modification to your playstyle, the C9 can clear whole lobbies with relative ease. Just don’t expect to outshoot the Jackal in a head-to-head every time.

#2: XM4

The M4A1 by any other name, the Black Ops 6 XM4 is not the Jackal PDW in terms of performance, but it’s a relatively close second, and if you can control the kick, can do more damage at longer distances more consistently. Its damage profile is also good, as is its recoil. It doesn’t provide SMG movement speed or hipfire ability, but if you want to use something with a bit more usability at range, the XM4 will provide.

#1: Jackal PDW

It doesn’t matter what you have equipped, what perks you’re using, or how well you play. If you use the Jackal PDW, you will win more gunfights more easily than with any other weapon in the game. There are a few reasons.

  • It has a consistent, short time to kill
  • It’s easy to control with a predictable recoil pattern
  • Has all the benefits of being an SMG, including fast movement and attachments
  • It outshoot ARs out to medium distance

I think the Jackal is in need of a substantial nerf, because in its current state, it reminds me of the AK-74u from Black Ops 1, and that’s a massive problem.

Those are my top five weapons available in Black Ops 6 during the beta period. The final, release version of the game is bound to see new champions rise to the top of the tier list, and you’ll likely need to use a lot of them to unlock attachments, camos, and other things.
