The location marked on the map above is where the Kobold Pickaxe spawns. However, even if the treasure marker on your minimap is present, the Kobold Pickaxe doesn’t properly appear. This effectively makes the treasure impossible to get. And no matter how long you wait at the location, the item simply never loads in.

Forums and discussions in locations such as WoWHead state that Blizzard is aware of this issue, and they confirmed that the item isn’t working as intended. Unfortunately, the team also admits that there is currently no workaround or resolution for this issue. As a result, it’s best to give up attempting to get this treasure for the time being. On the bright side, you no longer need to spend hours standing at this location, waiting for an item to spawn that won’t actually show up. Although this isn’t the only item, quest, or achievement that has this type of issue, it’s rather disappointing.

This lets you check back in on the comment section, which is where players will likely report being able to get the pickaxe when it’s fixed.
