All Dead By Daylight Easter Eggs in The Casting Of Frank Stone

Be aware that this list will contain inevitable spoilers so we suggest you complete one playthrough before continuing! With that in mind, let’s get into it and discover all references to Dead By Daylight we have found in The Casting Of Frank Stone.

Eerily Familiar Sound Design

The audio cues and sound design were among the best easter eggs to discover:

  • When a character picks up an item you hear the same noise players would hear in Dead By Daylight.
  • If a character is repairing a generator or attempting a risky timed move, the skill check noise is the same.
  • As Chris picks up the bunny mask in the Curiosity Shop, the Huntress Lullaby plays softly.
  • A lot of the background noise is similar to Dead By Daylight.
  • The piano tune Maddi plays in the manor is the Survivor theme in DBD.
  • As the final campfire scene ends, the game start noise kicks in..

Crows, Crows, and More Crows!

Crows are an important part of Dead By Daylight. They are startled by Survivors and Killers, often giving away a player’s position and if a Survivor is AFK, the crows will circle and caw above their heads. These feathery menaces can be spotted all over Dead By Daylight so it is no surprise we see them as easter eggs in The Casting Of Frank Stone too.

A stuffed crow sits in the Curiosity Shop when the teens look for a new camera. Others are heard being simultaneously ominous and adorable in the woods outside the mill as the group ventures in for the first time. Next time you play, see how many crow references you can spot.

Cuddly Killer Relliks

Some of the biggest DBD references are the Killer doll Relliks players can find all around the game. There are 12 to collect altogether and each one is a Dead By Daylight original Killer. Although the character reacts with disgust or horror at the creepy dolls, most DBD players think they are pretty cute. Especially the ones with the pull string who make their own little noise or have their eyes light up.

Pallets, Gens, and Lockers, Oh My!

There aren’t actually lockers to hide in but the design of the wooden trinket boxes looks awfully familiar, don’t you think? That small detail is slightly obscure but the presence of pallets to pull out of the way, and generators to repair (complete with skill checks!) make up for it. Completing skills checks while fitting parts in a generator is pretty fun but we wish there were more opportunities for gen repair!

The Hillbilly

Billy, King of the Zoomies, is mentioned a lot throughout The Casting Of Frank Stone. He features in a few places in Gerant Manor from the clock statue above to a diorama used to solve a puzzle. A painting of his mother is hanging on the wall and his weapon features as one of the trinkets. Hillbilly is also the very first Rellik doll you find as you explore the mill as Sam during chapter 1.

The Hatch

When it is time to jump down from Frank Stone’s lair, this hatch in the floor is open and ready. As one of the mainstays of Dead By Daylight, the emergency escape hatch just had to appear somewhere in The Casting Of Frank Stone. It was pretty funny to see it but it was a shame it was the sole hatch reference.

Scratchmarks

This Dead By Daylight easter egg is easy to miss if the player never looks behind them during their first scene with Maddi. In the dream world, Maddi is wandering through the forest and leaving a trail of red scratch-marks behind her. Usually, these only appear when a Survivor is running in Dead By Daylight. This is the first and only time we see these marks in The Casting Of Frank Stone!

Killer Easter Eggs

There are so many small mentions of Dead By Daylight Killers in The Casting Of Franks Stone in the Relliks, Trinkets, and artifacts collected by Augustine. They are also occasionally spoken of by characters or have easter eggs hidden around the area:

  • Wraith’s weapon (above) in the Curiosity Shop.
  • Huntress bunny mask in the Curiosity Shop and in Augustine’s museum.
  • Legion’s smiley pin in the Curiosity Shop.
  • The Artist portrait in Gerant Manor atrium.
  • A portrait of The Trapper’s father – Archie MacMillan – in Gerant Manor.
  • A mention of Lery’s Institute where The Doctor worked.

Death & Sacrifice

A horror game won’t be complete without some death and the sacrifice of innocents. If they don’t escape, Dead By Daylight Survivors usually end up on the hook like Bonnie (above), slaughtered by the Killer’s own hand, or taken by the Entity when the timer runs out. In The Casting Of Frank Stone, we get to see all three of these gruesome events, multiple times if you’re unlucky.
