It’s Never Too Late for DLC, Says Postal 2

12 years later an old game gets some new tricks.

One thing almost seems certain anymore in the world of digital downloads and yearly entries, that a game will lose support within 12-18 months of release.  While a few games break this mold and push support for 24-36 months, that is rare.  However, one game probably just broke the record for the longest time between initial release and DLC release.

Postal 2, a game that lets you be as violent as you want, has received overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam with over 9700 votes.  The developer, Running With Scissors, noticed this support and brought back the original voice actor to bring fans of the game new DLC.

…the new DLC is a full expansion for a game that originally released in 2003

Titled Paradise Lost, the DLC takes place ten years after the events of Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend and sees the Dude on a search for his lost dog Champ. Also supporting a full week of free roaming, new errand-based missions and boss fights, new weather zones, and new power-ups, the new DLC is a full expansion for a game that originally released in 2003.

The Dude Returns and he is looking for some TP

Our fans have given us so much and we proudly honor them with our version of unadulterated fun.

As Vince Desi, CEO at Running With Scissors states, “Our fans have given us so much, and we proudly honor them with our version of unadulterated fun. We welcome all gamers, old and new, to play and deliver themselves from evil in the new Paradise Lost. We love you.”

So what do you think, is 12 years too long to wait for DLC or should more games support older titles?

I love all types of games although shooters and RPGs are my favorite. My gaming platform of choice is the Xbox One/Xbox 360 but I have been known to play games on computers or PlayStation occasionally. I am always interested in hearing feedback or meeting new people.
