Surviving the never-ending winter of Frostpunk 2 requires making a lot of calculated decisions, especially with your resources. Goods are one of these resources that you will always need to keep an eye on in order to avoid disaster. Keep reading this guide to learn how to produce Goods in Frostpunk 2.
What are Goods in Frostpunk 2?
Goods are a vital resource in Frostpunk 2 that players must maintain a surplus of in order to keep the crime rate low. As your city increases in population, so does the amount of Goods you’re required to produce, making Goods production one of the most important aspects that you, the Steward, will have to manage. Or else things can go off the rails pretty quickly.
How to Produce Goods in Frostpunk 2
While it’s true that the city’s Central District naturally produces a set amount of Goods, you will soon find out that this amount is nowhere near enough to sustain their growing population. To keep up with this growth, you’ll have to develop better ways of producing Goods.
Develop Industrial Districts
Industrial Districts are your primary method of producing Goods in Frostpunk 2, but you may not have known that. This is because Industrial Districts are set to produce Prefabs by default, so producing Goods requires that you manually toggle them. To do this, simply choose the Industrial District you want to change and click on the Pot icon.
Of course, Prefabs are equally vital to your city’s development, so make sure you’re playing a balancing act when deciding how many Industrial Districts should switch production. If you find yourself needing more wiggle room for this allocation, simply build additional Industrial Districts and expand the ones you have already established.
Build Factories
Progressing further in the game, you’ll eventually be able to unlock Factories from the Idea Tree’s Resource section. Factories are buildings that you can place inside Industrial Districts to increase Goods output, helping maximize their production capabilities. Furthermore, a Factory can produce Goods even if its Industrial District is set to produce Prefab. This allows you to passively gain both of these essential resources at the same time.
Pass the right Laws
There are several laws in the game that players can enact in Frostpunk 2 that help make it easier to maintain a surplus of Goods.
- Mass-Produced Goods: allows your Industrial Districts and Buildings to produce higher quantities of Goods.
- Durable Goods: decreases the demand for Goods in your city
- Paid Essentials: boosts production efficiency for all your resources across the board
Any one of these laws makes it quite a lot easier for players to manage the production of Goods in their city.
