Odd Globs of Wax are among the numerous new items added with the latest expansion. While they sound rather useless, they can make you a chunk of gold if you know what to do with them. Here’s how to get and use Odd Globs of Wax in WoW: The War Within.

The Odd Glob of Wax is an item that can be found on the Isle of Dorn, Hallowfall, The Ringing Deeps, and Azj-Kahet. You find it commonly when fishing, or you might come across patches of Disturbed Earth while exploring Khaz Algar. I tend to find Disturbed Earth the most in Hallowfall.

If you go into the options and turn highlighting on, these patches are outlined, making them rather easy to spot. Since you can pick up these globs while doing daily quests or farming materials, it doesn’t hurt to collect them and use them later to turn them into more materials or some toys.

Now that you have some Odd Globs of Wax, you might be wondering what to do with them. That’s where Middles comes in. Middles is an NPC in The Ringing Deeps, and his location is marked on the map above. When you give enough Odd Globs of Wax to Middles, you get Firelight Rubies. Then, Firelight Rubies are used as currency with Gnawbles for a variety of items, such as crafting reagents and a grey item that sells for 200 gold to vendors. It takes 50 Odd Globs of Wax given to Middles for him to give you a Firelight Ruby.
