Does anybody remember Rollcage? The PlayStation One exclusive arcade racer with the grimy aesthetic, Fatboy Slim soundtrack, and cars that could drive on walls? If you don’t, here’s a quick refresher for you.
Robert Baker, one of the guys who worked on the original Rollcage, has joined forces with Chris Mallinson to create the two-developer studio Caged Element to work on Grip, a sort of spiritual successor to Rollcage.
They have a Steam Greenlight page and a Kickstarter coming within the month.
“We’re looking for help on Kickstarter to grow our team and get this game fully developed, so please help us out if you can! The Kickstarter will launch in less than a month.”
There isn’t a confirmed price point for Grip yet; however, they’re hoping to release on both PlayStation 4 and PC. They’ve confirmed a stellar soundtrack again with drum n bass, techno and trance tunes all featuring. If you’re not a fan of that style of music, however, you can completely customize it to play whatever songs you like.
If you’re interested in following the development of Grip, you can sign up to the mailing list here on the official website. Here’s our look at the first official Grip trailer
