Rumor has it that the popular Dungeons and Dragon’s MMO, Neverwinter, may be coming to PS4 some time in the near future.
During the Wizards of the Coast live stream, associate manager Trevor Kidd said that the free-to-play title that has been exclusive to Xbox One and PC is coming to PS4.
Currently Neverwinter has over 1.6 million players on the Xbox One, making it one of the consoles best free-to-play games of 2015. Neverwinter follows all the traditions of an MMO, but is set to the world of Dungeons and Dragons. The game has been praised mostly for its gameplay and has seen positive reviews for its story as well.
Many players have been asking for a PS4 release of the game for some time now. It’s still unknown whether the game will be cross-platform, or if it will have its own independent servers. The PS4 has gotten a few more MMOs that the Xbox One with titles such as DC Universe Online, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, FF XIV: Heavensward, and The Elder Scrolls Online. DCUO and FF XIV both have cross-platform compatibility between PC and PlayStation, but we will have to wait and see if Neverwinter follows suit.
