Publisher of the Dead Island series Deep Silver officially parted ways with developer Yager. Deep Silver gave the following statement:
After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner Yager. We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage.
Dead Island 2 was originally set to release sometime this year, but during the E3 conference, Deep Silver announced its release date for sometime next year. Now with Yager taken out of the picture, the wait for fans will most likely be even longer until Deep Silver can find another company to take on the project. The last game for this series to come out was Dead Island: Riptide, which released back in April of 2013.
At Least We Have Other Dead Island Stuff
Even though the game is on delay, there is still the future Dead Island movie that is in the works. Lionsgate was originally going to make the movie, but after that project failed, Occupant Entertainment is now going to package, produce, and finance everything. There is also the MOBA version of the series, Dead Island: Epidemic that you can play until then. I recommend playing the original Dead Island game, enter the arena, and test your skills out.
