Creative and Survival were the original game modes for Minecraft when it first released. Creative mode was where anyone could enter into their own unique game world and spend hours upon hours - even days or months - building whatever came to them in a dream.
I've spent thousands of hours in the Creative mode of Minecraft, and I can attest to the fact that my imagination has never been stronger. My hands have built entire cities. They've built ships, towers, castle walls spanning miles, underground mines, railway connections, small towns, hidden enclaves, and plenty more.
However, Minecraft, at its heart, is a multiplayer experience. Building a massive undertaking with a group of friends, or even your significant other, is one of the best feelings in the world. Creative is the game mode to do that in, as you don't have to waste time mining for building supplies and crafting material. You can truly focus on a shared vision or dream.
A1Craft
IP: a1rcraft.com
A1 Craft is currently considered one of the very best creative servers in Minecraft. This particular server has a 100% up-time, putting it a step above the rest when it comes to running game servers. Also, it's hard to find a time during the day - or night - when this server doesn't have a couple of hundred people in it.
The community has been built up quite a bit, and the available game modes match the diversified playerbase. You can enjoy Creative, obviously, or Hunger Games, Skyblock, Skywars, Towny, and more.
LichCraft
IP: us.lichcraft.com
Lich Craft claims to be the number one Minecraft server of all time, and it's not difficult to see why they make that assumption. The server also has a 100% up-time, and generally has over two-thousand players active at any point during the day. That's impressive all on its own.
Along with Creative, players can enjoy Adventure, MineZ, Skyblock, and MMO, which is the reason behind so many players being active within the world at any given time.
FadeCloud
IP: FadeCloud.com:25565
FadeCloud doesn't have the arrogance to consider themselves the number one Minecraft server of all time, but they do really make an impression on the Creative community. Their server tends to have upwards of 500 people playing at any one time, and they usually have a 99% up-time.
When it comes to Creative building, it's a lot easier to accomplish when you don't have over two thousand players blocking everything in the server. Believe it or not, a world as large as that in Minecraft can become quite small with that many people running around.
Not feeling up to Creative? Then enjoy Hunger Games, Pixelmon, Prison, or Skyblock, amongst others.
Badlion Network
IP: na.badlion.net:25565
Badlion Network may not have the most game modes available for the player community, but those it does have are done quite well, especially with over two thousand players enjoying their time in Minecraft every night.
Obviously, Badlion is one of the very best Creative servers, but it also allows people to enjoy Faction, PvP, and MCMMO. Personally, Creative is where it is at, as building a massive city or structure with thousands of players to worship the construction is where all the fun is.
EDAWG878 Creative
IP: EDawg878.com:25565
Here is yet another Creative Minecraft server that considers themselves to be the number one within the game. EDAWG is all over YouTube and Google for the builds accomplished within the game - mostly in Creative mode.
However, PvP, Roleplay, and Spigot are also available. Creative is where this community of over 300 active players shines, though, as the structures they create are beyond measure. The image above, for example, is just one mansion a player built with their bare hands.
Mineslam Network
IP: mineslam.me:25565
Mineslam, at 10 in the morning, has over 200 players enjoying the various game modes that are enabled on the server. The popular Minecraft network server tends to be live 99% of the time, and usually has well over 100 players at any given moment.
Being a predominantly Creative game mode server, Mineslam has become known for its exquisite builds and an energetic community that's filled to the brim with new ideas for content.
The towers in their header image are some of the coolest structures, welcoming new players to the world.
DRC Network
IP: drc.ms:25565
DRC Network, with over 400 active players, is quickly becoming the Creative Minecraft server to join. Their intro lobby is a bit odd, especially with all of the orange flooring greeting new players, but you can tell a lot of work went into this area.
There are a few major cities in the server, plus a few massive player homes. Just be wary of those griefers.
SquadCraft
IP: play.squadcraft.net
Many people will probably recognize SquadCraft from various YouTube videos, where plenty of aspiring content creators spend their time in Creative, Faction, MineZ, or Prison mode, to name just a few.
While you're checking out the massive castle structures, the dragon head built into the side of a mountain, and the welcoming cities, you'll find a community that's ready to embrace you.
Plus, there is always the chance of getting on a YouTube video and becoming an extra.
Hellcraft
mc.hell-craft.com
Hellcraft may have a rather foreboding name, and the majority of this Creative server appears to be built with a similar style to the Hell or the Spawn comics, but shouldn't push you away from this interesting server.
Their welcome sign is quite interesting. It simply says 'Welcome to Hell Craft', but it is held aloft in the sky and made of burning Nether Rock.
Meepcraft
IP: meepcraft.com:25565
Meepcraft currently touts one of the largest in-game economies in Minecraft. New mini-games happen all the time here. However, we're more interested in the Creative aspect of the server.
Residents have built entire pirate ships, cathedrals, military-style forts, Roman-styled cities, and plenty more. This is the type of server where you can spread your wings and flourish. You and a few hundred other players, of course.
In the end, the type and style of Minecraft server you end up choosing is completely up to you. Much like the game mode, a multiplayer server has its own feeling and community standing strong behind it. That community is just as important as the building you have in mind for a creative adventure.
Join one of the aforementioned servers, find a group of players, and then share an idea to build together in an epic fashion. Most people playing Creative already have something in mind, but they tend to be open to new content all the time.
