“There are those who wear masks to protect themselves. And there are those who wear masks to protect us all.”
Confirming everyone’s suspicions, and surprising no one, the Call of Duty franchise will release another yearly title. Infinity Ward has released a teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts to get people anticipated for the May 21st world premiere trailer during the unveiling of the next generation Xbox console.
While there is a fan favorite character in the previous Modern Warfare storyline with the name Ghost, this will be a new unrelated sub-brand to the Call of Duty franchise. The title, however, hints that there will still be special force operators causing mayhem and destruction in black operation missions.
Masked Warriors
The game will be available November 5th for existing consoles. Ghosts is confirmed to be powered by a brand new game engine and will be designed with the next generation consoles in mind.
Although there is no set release date for the new title, Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin feels the next console generation would be the “perfect opportunity” to start a new chapter within the established series.
More info will come during E3 2013, but the game promises to feature “all-new game play experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast of characters”.
You can be sure more explosive goodness is sure to follow, but right now I’ll sate my operation deniable combat with a new skin for my guns….
Bang! I See Dead People…
Right now, GameStop is having a pre-order special for Ghosts. If you place $5 down to reserve the game, you will receive a code for a new black ghost Camo for multiplayer guns in Call of Duty: Black Ops. I know many wanted a sleek black gun rather the more recent, colorful camos, so hopefully this will a good incentive for many gamers to put your money down (like you even needed one).
