Tree of Savior has a plethora of classes. However, they all stem from a basic set of four classes: Swordsman, Archer, Cleric, and Wizard. These classes all have their own strengths and weaknesses, and in this guide I’ll cover each of them. I’ll also share a class chart that illustrates the advancement options to help you choose your class.
Swordsman:
The Swordsman is the basic front line fighter. It can take the role of a tank or melee damage dealer. This class is designed to take physical hits with relative safety.
Strengths:
- Can take physical damage relatively safely.
- Has a decent assortment of weapons.
- Has the most role flexibility.
- The best solo class.
Weaknesses:
- Low magic defense. Using stat points to bolster magic defense cuts offensive capabilities, and is only recommended if you’re planning to make a tank.
- Must be in range of enemy attacks in order to attack.
Best Stats:
Damage Dealer:
- Strength
- Constitution
Tank:
- Constitution
- Spirit
- Strength
Archer:
The Archer class is currently one of the hardest classes to master. As you’d expect, the Archer uses ranged physical weapons to deal damage. While damage is a bit lower as an Archer, the safety of being able to shoot from a distance makes up for it.
Strengths:
- Long range allows for a bit of safety.
- Easy grouping and killing of regular enemies.
Weaknesses:
- High SP costs and a low SP pool.
- Lowest base damages from single abilities.
- Long fights when fighting bosses solo.
Best Stats:
- Strength
- Dexterity
- Spirit
Wizard:
Wizard is your standard mage class. While it has decent damage, it doesn’t have the same range as the Archer. It’s relatively hard to play Wizard solo due to SP costs and durability.
Strengths:
- Relatively high damage.
- Ranged skills.
- Able to equip shields when using a 1-handed weapon.
- Relatively high magic defense due to needing several points in Spirit.
Weaknesses:
- Low survivability against bosses solo.
- High SP costs.
- Low health pool.
Best Stats:
- Intelligence
- Spirit
Cleric:
Cleric is the basic healer class. However, the Cleric’s heals also damage enemies. The biggest downside to this is the lack of range.
Strengths:
- Health bar is easily managed.
- Don’t have to choose between heals or damage skills while leveling.
- Easily solos bosses.
- Relatively low SP costs.
Weaknesses:
- Practically no range.
- Neither Heal nor Cure damages regular flying enemies. (This does not appear to carry over to flying bosses.)
Best Stats:
- Intelligence
- Spirit
Class Chart:
I’ve pulled a class advancement chart from the Tree of Savior forums posted by the user rustvein1. This should give you a better idea of the multitude of classes, and how to get to them.
That about wraps up this basic class guide. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please leave them in the comments section below.
