Blizzard’s highly competitive card game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, will be going co-op for one week. This will completely change how the game can be played, which is normally 1v1.
The week of co-op will be considered a Tavern Brawl event called “Unite Gainst Mechazod” according to Blizzard, which will have pairs of players take on the robotic enemy.
How Co-Op Will Work
Since co-op is new to Hearthstone, they’re making a few changes during the Mechazod event, which will make playing a little different. There are going to be pre-built decks that have good odds to take out Mechazod, as he will switch sides of the board during each turn. This will allow each player to have a chance at him.To win, each partner must survive until the end of the match. Although winning is great, Blizzard will give all participants a free deck of cards to use during the Tavern Brawls co-op mode.
To participate, you can play on either Windows PC, Android, iOS, and Mac. The time slot to participate is November 4th through November 9th, which is also the running time of Blizzard’s BlizzCon this weekend.
Bringing Co-Op to Hearthstone: Good or Bad?
Many players have been advocating for Hearthstone to allow co-op game-play and they’re finally getting their wish. From my perspective, I believe this is a great feature that Blizzard is adding, and will bring in more players to the already popular card game.
This could also be challenging to many gamers since playing in pairs will require a sense of cohesion for a successful match.Only time will tell how successful this co-op mode will be, but Blizzard has a good reputation for making the right decisions.
