During this past weekend at BlizzCon, Blizzard announced that Heroes of the Storm will be getting a new matchmaking system. The goal is to replace the old matchmaking system by the end of the year, making gameplay more enjoyable and balanced
Problems with the current matchmaking system
One of the major issues with the current matchmaking system is that it is the same system that is in place for StarCraft 2. The main focal point of this system is speed, whereas putting together matches of quality is required for Heroes of the Storm.
The goal for the new system is matching players according to their current compatible skills, which will give a more fluid gameplay that is balanced. Blizzard hopes to implement the new matchmaking system in a few weeks, but by the end of the year it should be in place for sure.

Among this huge change, Blizzard has also announced that Heroes of the Storm will have bans enabled in the Rank Draft lobbies, and also the implementation of a Grandmaster ladder for players who are at their max. While these are not as important as the matchmaking system, they will hopefully make the gameplay much more enjoyable for everyone.
Do you think Blizzard will make gameplay in Heroes of the Storm better with the new system? Will the Grandmaster ladder be a good addition for veteran players? Share your thoughts with me below!
