Sony tells you how to access The Old Hunters DLC

Bloodborne's new DLC is coming. Here's how you'll access it.

If you bought Artorias of the Abyss, the acclaimed Dark Souls expansion, and decided to go in blind, you may have been a little confused — going through the full game, with the promise of DLC, and not being able to find it.

Never has a DLC tried so hard to hide itself from the player. A bit unfortunate, when all you wanted to do was play the thing.

While Bloodborne‘s new Old Hunters DLC, set to release November 24th, doesn’t seem to want to hide itself as badly as its predecessor, there are still a few hoops you’ll have to jump through.

To ensure that you’ll be able to get in on day one without having to search every nook and cranny of Yharnam, Sony has recently put up a blog post with a step-by-step guide that will tell you how to get in.

Obviously, Sony has tried to keep their guide as spoiler-free as possible, so there might be a few steps that seem hazy to those of you who have been away for a while. So, here’s a slight translation of Sony’s recently announced how-to.

1. Kill Vicar Amelia and trigger the cutscene from the monstrous skull in the back of her chamber so that night will fall over the city of Yharnam.

2. Return to the Hunter’s Dream. On the steps there should be a messenger there offering you a new key item: The Eye of the Blood-drunk Hunter.

3.With the item in your inventory, warp to Oedon Chapel and return to where a certain sometimes-invisible elder god tried to pick you up and kill you.

Unlike the person in this video, you’re going to walk right up to where that slumped-over body is and let yourself get grabbed. Don’t worry — if Sony isn’t messing around, instead of getting instantly killed by the Amygdala, you should be transported to The Old Hunters DLC, where you’ll have a slew of new beasts to slaughter and, perhaps more importantly, new ways to slaughter them, like the ridiculously cool portable gatling gun.
