Today is the day for any and all interested parties to download the Dragon’s Prophet open beta client and get to crackin’ at the game’s first day of truly open beta. VIP members could login yesterday to get a head start on free to play users. That period has come and gone, and at 5PM PDT everyone can log in and give the game a test run.
The game’s troubles during closed beta are no secret, but the open beta version of the client does provide some additional optimization and translation improvements over CB. With that said, the game is still very much in a beta state.
The open beta brings a new starter area, the housing system, and several quality of life improvements to the game. Those who has trouble running the game in closed beta may have a better time of running it now, but will likely still see some slowdown as Runewaker’s custom engine for the game is graphically intensive.
