May the 4th be with you as well, Respawn! The studio behind Titanfall will be developing a third person action/adventure game set within the Star Wars universe.
Game Director Stig Asmussen confirmed the game in a letter posted to the Respawn website. Somebody rev up the engine of the Star Wars hype machine!
“Now, I understand on the surface this might sound a bit dry, but developing a game within the ever-expanding Star Wars universe opens up so many paths for us to go down, and an unparalleled playground to design within.”
— Stig Ausmussen, Game Director
The possibilities are truly endless when discussing the Star Wars universe. The letter didn’t give much to go on, only that the game would be third person action/adventure. For those not familiar with Respawn Entertainment, the studio is made up of key people responsible for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Stig Asmussen is the mind behind God of War 3. Titanfall was the first game from the developer and while it was definitely a lot of fun, it had its limits.
There will certainly be no limits on this game, however, as the key will be to create something large enough that it’s worthy of being an adventure set within the Star Wars universe. This game will have loads of hype surrounding it. A lot of people have been less than thrilled with Star Wars Battlefront, so anything less than substantial will be met with a rude response.
