Ready Player One, by Ernest Cline, is a novel set in a dystopian future where everyone is obsessed with the virtual world of OASIS. It is Cline’s first novel, and has been well-received by all types of readers. So well-received that it’s getting a movie with some big name actors in it — namely, Silicon Valley’s T.J. Miller.
The novel is known for its 80s video game references (mentioning the Atari gaming console and Galaga within the first few pages) and its outlook on how virtual reality may affect us in the future. Steven Spielberg revealed near the beginning of the year that he would be directing the movie adaptation of the novel, which is set to release on March 30th, 2018.
We haven’t received much news on the project, but a recent tweet from Game Informer has announced who will be joining the growing cast for Ready Player One.

Game Informer tweeted that T.J. Miller, known for his role as Erlich Bachmann in the TV series Silicon Valley, will be playing the character i-Rok in the film adaptation of Ready Player One. The character i-Rok is known for trolling the online forums within the virtual reality video game. Miller will join fellow actors Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn, and Mark Rylance for the movie.
