Today at E3 we got a whole new look at Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.

The creative director himself, Jean Guesdon, was on stage to shine some light on this new amazing looking edition to the Assassin’s Creed series. Black Flag promises plenty of piratey goodness, from drunken bar brawls to epic naval battles I can’t wait to start sailing the seas. With the promise of an immense open world environment we will be able to explore everything from sunken shipwrecks on the ocean floor to ancient Mayan ruins atop the islands.

Gameplay

The gameplay trailer starts off with one of my favorite quotes from Nature.

“The health of the eye seems to demand the horizon. We are never tired so long as we can see far enough.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

The first trailer shows some amazing video from the game, starting off with a crazy looking bar room brawl and expanding to a full scale pirate boarding party. The second trailer we see shows us Kenway’s boat the Jackdaw cruising the shores and taking in some beautiful scenery. We see some shots of Kenway running across rooftops and climbing towers across the islands. They also show some awesome looking shots of Kenway diving under water to sunken shipwrecks, and most memorable for me was the whale jumping out of the water as Kenway sits and watches.

Overall

This is an exciting title to see and with the promise of hunting, fishing, deep-sea diving, drunken bar room brawls, and endless hours of exploration I can tell that this game will be filling up days of my life. I have been in love with the Assassin’s Creed titles since Altaïr ibn-La’Ahad, so I might be a little biased. To me this game looks amazing and I can’t wait to see what else they do with the pirate setting. Get ready to set sail, because Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag will be hitting the seas this November.
