With the overnight success of Pokémon Go, the list of features available in the game will only increase as time goes on. John Hanke of Niantic has teased new features like trading, Pokémon Centers, PokéStop customization, and additional Pokémon for the mobile game.
Hanke spoke at the Pokémon Go San Diego Comic-Con panel. He said that as months and even years progress, Pokémon outside of the original 150 may become available. He was unable to give a date for a trading mechanic, though he confirmed that the function is in development.
As for PokéStops, Hanke said that the customization will allow players to build up an area and change PokéStop functionality with items. Comicbook.com notes Hanke’s comment on the scope of development concepts:
“We have probably a tenth of the ideas we had when we kicked this project off two years ago in the initial release.”
GameSkinny has plenty of Pokémon Go coverage, including the news of the first ever “Pokémon Master.”
