After three years of work, Alex Marcolina — a 20 year old game design major at UC San Diego — has built his own version of the 2007 smash Valve game for the unconventional platform.
It is not the fanciest, but then, if you thought it would be, you’re expecting too much from this uber-pixelated medium. Its a graphing calculator, for goodness sake — its meant for number crunching, not gaming.
The fan-made 38 chamber iteration, Portal Prelude, makes for a great distraction, beating out other hacks previously applied to graphing calculators.
Pretty serious dedication from the student who usually creates games for PC. The impressive design bodes well for his future.
