The Attack on Titan video game will burst its way onto the North American games market tomorrow.
Created by Dynasty Warriors veteran developer, Omega Force, the game is based on the anime series of the same name.
For the uninitiated, the anime revolves around citizens persecuted by eerie, giant people-like monsters with an insatiable appetite for human flesh. Humanity rises against the creatures using special omnidirectional mobility gear that allows them to quickly glide around in the air and slice the horrifying beasts to pieces.
The game will follow Attack on Titan’s first series and also feature new events involving some of the show’s familiar faces.
Although some have criticized it for its repetitiveness and lack of challenge, reviews so far have been largely positive with critics stating that the game’s visuals and gameplay mechanics effectively capture the essence of the series.
This isn’t the anime’s first foray into video game territory. It has already had a handful of interactive adaptations, the most recent being Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains for Nintendo 3DS in 2013.
Attack on Titan will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, in both physical and digital forms, and PC. The game can be found on Steam for a 17 percent discount until Friday.
