2013 E3’s FFXIV: A Realm Reborn gives a tour on the Playstation UI

FFXIV developers have a commentary tour for the user interface on the PlayStation 3, what does the game have in store for us this year?
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

As always, E3 is getting us all excited over everything that’s up and coming, especially for fans of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The producer and director Naoki Yoshida and community team leader Toshio Murouchi both reveal the Playstation 3 user interface of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn for fans world wide. FFXIV: A Realm Reborn seems like it won’t be a failure compared to Final Fantasy XI which I’m sure fans would agree. The fantasy-filled game will come out on the PC, Ps3 and the Ps4 as well.

Now the developers do speak in japanese, but don’t worry the video is subtitled. They first talk about how to customize your character and basic controls for moving around in the land of Eorzea. There are five humanoid races for players to choose from when creating a character. There are the Hyur, A human-like race; Elezen, An elf-like race; Lalafell, humanoids with great agility and intelligence; Roegadyn, a physically large and muscular race; and the Miqo’te, a feline race of hunters.

Also, the battle system is shown to be like any other MMORPG, to start a fight, players must attack their opponent. Of course, some enemies are naturally aggressive and attack you if they see you. FFXIV: A Realm Reborn can support up to eight players, so you can have a pretty big party. Players may change their class at will by changing weapons and a character’s equipped weapon determines the character class they want to play with.

So, with all that in mind, would you want to play as a man-cat? Or maybe a little sword fighting guy? I know Ill be playing because I just got a Beta Registration Code from Square Enix in my e-mail today. If you want to get on board with this amazing game, heres a link to the beta sign-up. Just because I’m a nice guy like that.
