With Assassin’s Creed IV, expect the action to shimmy through the streets of Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival, whip through the Amazon, or scale the iconic Cristo Redentor, because beautiful Brazil could be the setting of next year’s edition of the game.

Nothing has been confirmed via Ubisoft’s North American heads, but an interview with Portuguese-language site Techundo seems to be piquing curiosities. Most of the article is about Ubisoft Brazil’s managing director Bertrand Chaverot apologizing for the company’s stereotypical portrayal of the country in Assassin’s Creed III‘s train station scene. But he also comments that his company has been in the process of developing a story based on Brazilian history. This could suggest that it will play some kind of role in the upcoming title, if not act as the main locale.

Again, nothing has been confirmed, but GameSkinny will keep you updated when more information becomes available.
