Feels a bit like Diablo 3 mixed with League of Legends
I started playing Marvel Heroes earlier today, and gameplay-wise it feels a lot like Diablo 3. I do have to say that the combat also feels a little like League of Legends, with the way the characters are specialized. For instance, Scarlet Witch focuses more on her skills, like Syndra from League of Legends. Hawkeye is more like Sivir or Ashe, using basic attacks. I enjoyed it, but it’s just too easy. My first death in the game was on under-leveled Scarlet Witch. I was leveling up Hawkeye, who is currently level 10. So I took my level 2 Scarlet Witch to where he was, and fought Taskmaster; needless to say I was destroyed. Though I did get 2 levels fighting to Taskmaster so it wasn’t a total loss.
The first steps
The story, from what I have seen so far, is interesting. Doom looks to be the big baddie so far in the game. The tutorial-like mission takes you to the SHIELD prison called “The Raft” to subdue and recapture the Super-Villains that were released. It basically puts you right into the action and lets you figure it out along the way. Enemies seem to vary between physical up close in your face types, and ranged damage types. I haven’t seen any middle ground types yet.
Will I continue?
I may continue to play Marvel Heroes as a casual game. I won’t be buying anything from the cash shop though. I just don’t see myself playing this game frequently enough to justify spending real money on it. Luckily though you have the chance to get all the Heroes without having to spend any money on them. I unlocked Hawkeye just completing the opening mission. So will I continue to play? I don’t know, only time will tell.
