Capcom has announced that the newest entry in its flagship monster-hunting series, Monster Hunter XX (pronounced “Double-Cross”), will be released on the Nintendo Switch in Japan.
Originally a Nintendo 3DS game, Monster Hunter XX is an updated version of Monster Hunter X (pronounced “Cross”), which was released in Western territories as Monster Hunter Generations just last year. It is the fifth and possibly last mainline Monster Hunter game to release on the Nintendo 3DS, and was released in Japan this past March.
At this time, it is unknown whether the Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter XX will be released in Western territories, but players from other regions who import the game will still be able to play it, since the Nintendo Switch is region free.
More information about this launch will be revealed on May 27th, when the Monster Hunter Championship event takes place.
