Earlier today, MGM Interactive announced that it has teamed up with Hugo Games to develop a PvP game based on the popular TV show, Vikings. This new game will feature popular characters from the show — such as Ragnar, Lagertha, Floki, and Rollo — and will make an appearance on both PC and mobile devices.
In an official statement about this partnership, Hugo Games’ CEO Henrik Kølle said:
“We are proud to team with MGM Interactive to bring the Vikings phenomenon to mobile gamers. Fans of the show have come to expect drama, action, and intensity during each episode and the new Vikings game will deliver those same elements and more.”
Vikings, a historical drama TV series which just completed its fourth season, is inspired by the stories of Ragnar Lothbrok — a legendary hero and a notorious scourge of England and France. It is based on real historical events and figures. Ragnar, a former farmer, becomes king of Denmark and works to provide for his family and his country.
We don’t currently have any information about what sort of plot we can expect from this game or how precisely it will tie into the TV show. But expect more details soon. The Vikings game is planned to be released in 2018 for Android, iOS, and Steam.
