Accolade, a publisher that operated from 1985-2000, has announced that they will be making their return with the release of Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game will be developed by German studio Black Forest Games.
The Bubsy franchise saw its most recent game on the original PlayStation in 1997 with Bubsy 3D, making this game the first sighting of the talking bobcat in about 20 years. Bubsy was first seen on the SNES in Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind.
The platformer will include entirely new environments and enemies in Bubsy’s search for the “Golden Fleece”. Most importantly, the wise-cracking protagonist will be even more talkative than he was in the previous iterators, with more than 100 additional one-liners being added to the bobcat’s vocabulary.
The game is slated to be released during the fall. For more on Accolade’s return, as well as a personal interview with Bubsy, be sure to read more here.
