EA could be planning to add more features to SimCity, such as one that most customers have been waiting to hear.. Offline Mode.
If EA’s rumored survey isn’t a joke that someone online posted, it could show that EA is trying to attract its SimCity fanbase back plus many other people. Some features that are included in the server are:
- Offline Mode: Play Offline
- Classic Mode: Game mode where you can use cheats to build the perfect city.
- Naming: Name buildings, streets, businesses, and even Sims.
- Bigger Cities: Build cities twice the size of what was originally the limit on SimCity.
- Build Together: Build cities together with your friends.
- City Evolution: See your city evolve over 200 years, from the industrial revolution to the near future. Your city’s architecture will evolve over time as you deal with challenges from different eras.
The Story
After EA released SimCity they received A LOT of negative feedback from customers complaining about its always-online DRM and lost fans because of it. Although many people thought it was fine at first, things got out of hands after many people were receiving errors such as:
“We are unable to connect to EA servers to activate SimCity Limited Edition on this computer using your account. Please try again later.”
and,
“Unable to load city at this time. Please Try Again Later.”
Some critics and reviewers even had to wait to review the game so that they could connect to the servers, and Polygon dropped their review from a 9.5, which they gave after trying it out before launch, to an 8.5 after it was released (it currently has 6.5 review by Polygon).
Note: This has yet to be proven true or false, so don’t get your hopes that high. If I find out anything else I’ll post it.
