Microsoft’s Marques Lyons, Microsoft Xbox MVP and the Director of Consumer Camp, said in a letter to small business owners that they should buy an Xbox One.
“The Xbox One, priced at $499, is an affordable option for small business owners, as there are many features built into the console that could help it rival even the most modest of video conferencing and networking platforms.”
Lyons listed just a handful of applications that would be useful for small businesses, such as Skype, which is the instant messaging and video calling app that Microsoft acquired in late 2011. The Xbox One will also have access to Microsoft’s cloud storage service SkyDrive through the Internet Explorer browser and the dedicated SkyDrive app.
There is also a new Wi-Fi detect feature which will allow users to beam video and presentations to smart glass enabled devices, as well as apps that haven’t been released or even written yet the Xbox One. The One will also have its very own Office web app which will allow users to create and edit documents.
