Gaming accessories manufacturer Nyko announced today that it has released a Docking Kit and Boost Pak for the Nintendo Switch, both of which are meant to afford Switch gamers more flexibility and battery power while playing on the go.
Currently, there are several other battery packs and docking options for the Nintendo Switch on the market, but Nyko claims that their versions are the most affordable and efficient versions currently available to Switch players. Chris Arbogast, Nyko’s VP of Sales and Marketing said:
With [the] portable Docking Kit, we’ve created an affordable, compact docking solution that suits the on-the-go design of the Switch. Now, gamers can easily charge their Switch and enable TV mode no matter where they are.
Nyko’s Switch Docking Kit comes packaged with an HDMI cable and a Type-C AC adapter, while the dock itself has one HDMI port, a power port, two USB 2.0 ports, and one USB 3.0 ports. It retails for $49.99 and is currently available at WalMart, Gamestop, and Nyko.com.
The Boost Pak for the Nintendo Switch reportedly provides players up to 50% more playtime via a 2500 mAh battery when on the go; it can also continue to charge the system when it is attached to the docking kit. The Boost Pak itself charges either through the docking kit or a USB Type-C cable. It retails for $29.99 and can be found at WalMart and Nyko.com.
