R.I.P.D. The Game came out this week and I managed to get my hands on it. Having read some of the comics I was excited about the movie, but I was a little hesitant about the game because we have heard nothing about it. There is a reason we have heard nothing,
The Story
I haven’t seen the movie yet but the game is supposed to follow the storyline of it. You can choose to take control of either Lawman Roy Pulsipher, (Jeff Bridges), or Nick Walker, (Ryan Reynolds) as they try to rid the world of the disfigured souls who refuse to move on called dead-ohs. These dead-ohs get more violent and twisted looking the longer they stay on earth.
The Gameplay
The gameplay is atrocious. It is an over the shoulder third-person shooter. The shooting is very bad, and aiming is very difficult to do with it jerking all over the place. Just about everything is bad about this game, the levels are boring and poorly designed, they use the likeness of the movie characters but the game characters sound nothing like them, and the entire goal of the game is tedious.
Overall
I would not recommend this game to anyone. Though I must say that this is just my opinion, but I am trying to save a few hours of your life. If you still want to pick up R.I.P.D The Game, it is out now for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
