Divekick is a 2D parody fighting game with a simple twist. As a heavily distilled fighting game, Divekick will be released on Windows PC through Steam on August 20th. Need proof? Check out the game’s official Twitter account for the message here. It also launches on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on the same day.
The PC version will support Big Picture mode and Steamworks. Passing the Steam Greenlight process earlier this week, Divekick joined 15 other titles planned for Valve’s digital distribution platform.
Developed by One True Game Studios and Iron Galaxy, Divekick has a roster of 13 fighters and solely two buttons for jumping and kicking (no joystick). The game proves to have very little fighting game complexity, which is the creators’ objective.
As the same with the Playstation versions, Divekick for PC will be priced at $9.99. I’m expecting a lot people to be looking forward to playing the game, because excitement for it seems high. I know I want to go back to my old-school fighter ways and divekick someone in the face!
