Things are about to get even crazier in the drugged-out psychedelic world of We Happy Few. The story of Joy’s grip on the citizens of Wellington Wells will finally come to an end in the game’s new DLC, We All Fall Down.
The upcoming DLC will see one of the biggest changes to the game yet, as this final expansion notably ditches the title’s previous survival mechanics and focuses on stealth combat. Compulsion Games commented:
We All Fall Down returns to We Happy Few’s dark origins, but burns it all down in spectacular fashion. Starving like the rest of the people, Victoria wrestles with her own withdrawals as the city slides deeper into Joy shortage and disorder.
To free the city from Joy, players will strategically maneuver around the city’s rooftops, take up arms against the Bobbies, and expose citizens to their dismal truth. Victoria can whip foes in a snappy take on combat or silently take out enemies with the new dart gun. Stealthy players can climb around the rooftops, adding more variety to We Happy Few’s gameplay.
We All Fall Down is the game’s third DLC, following Lightbearer and They Came From Below, both of which released earlier this year.
We Happy Few has had an interesting and winding road. The game started as a crowd-funded indie horror title way back in 2015. The game piqued enough interest to gain a Gearbox publishing deal in 2017.
In our official review of the game, we said: “There may be a few rough spots here and there, but the polished interior just beneath the surface of this stealth/horror/survival mashup is very bright indeed.”
The final We Happy Few DLC, We All Fall Down, will jettison the eating, sleeping, and crafting mechanics of the base game when it launches on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on November 19, for $7.99.
Stay tuned for more on We Happy Few and the We All Fall Down DLC in the coming days.
